Triin Tedersoo defended her doctoral thesis on "Campylobacter spp. in fresh broiler chicken meat and pig caecal samples in Estonia"

On May 22, 2024, Triin Tedersoo, the chief specialist on animal health at the LABRIS Risk Assessment Department, successfully defended her dissertation on "Campylobacter spp. in fresh broiler chicken meat and pig caecal samples in Estonia" at the Estonian University of Life Sciences.

The research for the doctoral thesis was conducted in collaboration between the Estonian University of Life Sciences and National Centre for Laboratory Research and Risk Assessment (formerly the Veterinary and Food Laboratory). Significant contributions to the success of the research were made by partners from Agriculture and Food Board, the University of Tartu, Ida-Tallinna Keskhaigla, and AS Rakvere Haigla.

The thesis was supervised by Associate Professor Kadrin Meremäe and Tenure Professor Mati Roasto from the Estonian University of Life Sciences. The public defense of the dissertation took place on May 22, 2024, and the opponent was Professor Marcel Zwietering from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.

As a result of the successful defense, Triin Tedersoo was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Veterinary Medicine.
