Research and development

Participation in research and development activity sets high standards for the centre. The National Centre for Laboratory Research and Risk Assessment has expert-level specialists, extensive experiences and technological capacity to meet these expectations in specific areas.

The National Centre for Laboratory Research and Risk Assessment contributes to research and development in several ways:

  • participating in research projects as a partner
  • co-operating with European Union reference laboratories
  • co-operating with European institutions, e.g., the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)
  • contributing to the research projects of other research institutions as a subcontractor
  • co-operating with universities and institutes through the research of the doctoral students working at the National Centre for Laboratory Research and Risk Assessment.

The publications that have been co-authored by the employees of the National Centre for Laboratory Research and Risk Assessment as well as the presentations they give at international conferences provide an overview of the work performed.

Knowledge transfer

The knowledge gained through research is shared with colleagues, food and feed processors, breeders, hunters, students and other interested parties in public institutions and private sector by means of presentations, training courses, articles, etc. 

The National Centre for Laboratory Research and Risk Assessment is represented in various expert organisations through its employees.
