LABRIS hosted Finnish Food Authority representatives at risk assessment seminar

On August 22–23, the LABRIS risk assessment department hosted colleagues from the Finnish Food Authority (Ruokavirasto). The meeting took place as part of the EFSA-initiated partnership project on risk assessment activities.

During the visit, a two-day seminar was held with presentations and discussions. LABRIS gained valuable insights into the work of Finnish colleagues in the areas of dairy product substitutes, prioritization of contaminants, risk-benefit assessment, and the use of artificial intelligence.

The Finnish representatives were particularly interested in studies related to African swine fever (ASF) and echinococcosis, where LABRIS shared its long-standing experience.

At the end of the meeting, topics were agreed upon for further focus during webinars to be held later this year.

Both LABRIS and Ruokavirasto representatives hope that this meeting has laid the foundation for long-term cooperation between the two institutions in the field of risk assessment.
