We perform the following analyses and tests to diagnose animal diseases:

  • pathological,
  • histological,
  • mycological,
  • parasitological, bacteriological,

We also determine the sensitivity of bacteria to antimicrobial substances to allow veterinarians to use antibiotics responsibly and make justified treatment decisions.

All laboratory tests and analyses related to animal diseases and infections and the related professional competence have been assembled to the laboratory of Tartu.

The main tasks of the risk assessment department include the following:

  • drawing up expert opinions and risk assessments commissioned by the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture (REM) and the Agriculture and Food Board (AFB);
  • participation in reporting risks;
