The aim of the meeting was to promote knowledge exchange and share best practices in the fields of risk assessment, communication, and management. In addition to expert presentations, group discussions were held, with a special focus on topics related to food supplements. The meeting concluded with the mapping of key areas for future collaboration.
The event was organised within the framework of the Member State Coordinated Communication (MSCC) initiative by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Under this initiative, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have defined several joint goals — and this expert meeting in Tartu marked one of the first and most important milestones in strengthening Baltic cooperation in food safety.
